One of the newest members of the ever growing FLEGA family, OJOO wants to turn the world into one big playground. The Ghent based start-up was founded by Peter Symons, who previously launched the dating app Twoo into stardom, and develops tools to let people create their own mobile games.
Key difference with other game maker tools: you don’t have to write a single line of code yourself. Anyone that’s able to navigate a web interface, type text and upload an image can build a mobile game in no time. Take a quick look at the below video to see how easy it is.
Even better: crafting, publishing and promoting your application is completely free. OJOO has also made it as easy as possible to let people play the games with minimal effort. The only thing you need to play the games is the app, a full battery and active GPS and Bluetooth connections. There’s no need for an internet connection so you won’t have to keep one eye on your mobile data while you’re playing.
The variety of games on offer ranges from variations on mobile classics such as Pokémon Go and Flappy Bird over arcade legends like Space Invaders, to more traditional jigsaw puzzles and crosswords. The developers make sure the creative studio web application is getting regular feature updates. Combined with a near limitless market – the games can be implemented in a lot of different fields such as marketing, tourism and education – OJOO seems to have created quite a future proof concept.
