Virtual reality requires creatives to rethink their strategies. Storytelling is undergoing an evolutionary process, spatial narration requires new skills and the relationship between audience and narrator has to be redefined. The very first VR Creators’ Lab, taking place from July 17 till July 21 in Munich, wants to help filmmakers and game designers how to create valuable and sustainable content for a 360° sphere.
The five day training course consists of intense expert sessions, mentored development, guided rapid prototyping and group writing sessions. Creativity, inspiration and expertise will come together in a mix of keynotes, case studies, hands-on workshops, design thinking sessions and content development. The goal is to create a safe environment for creatives to learn, explore, experiment and work together.
As the course is open to all European citizens, you will have to apply if you want to participate. Participation is subject to selection on the basis of creative background, production potential and your prior experience with VR. The lab is primarily aimed at writers, VR developers, game designers and creative producers who have experience in their field.
Applications have to be in by April 28. All candidates will be informed of the final selection by June 2. Selected candidates will have to pay a participation fee of €870, including six nights accomodation in Munich and transportation from the hotel to the lab. Good luck to all candidates!
