When CrazyGames joined the FLEGA family back in 2017, the browser game portal offered 1000 video games to a monthly audience of 5 million players. Fast forward to 2021 and those numbers have skyrocketed. Today, more than 8000 titles from 250 different developers are played monthly by 17 million users worldwide.
It’s no big surprise, then, the Leuven based enterprise was named the fourth fastest growing tech company in Belgium by Deloitte. How did they achieve this? In their year-in-review, the company calls 2020 their most innovative year yet. Next to strengthening relations with development and advertisement partners, they rolled out a couple of powerful tools to make the experience smoother on the end of both developers and players.
As more and more players visit the portal on a mobile device, the team developed a mobile friendly web application that creates a user experience similar to a mobile native app without ever directing users to an external app store. The launch of the app in September made it easier to reach mobile users and caused a significant increase in retention.
A steady flow of new game experiences is the lifeblood of the platform. To make it as easy as possible for developers to submit their titles on CrazyGames they developed a QA testing tool, which is the quickest and easiest way to make sure the video games fit right on the platform.
Most of the games, whether it’s driving, shooting, puzzle, clicker or .io games, are aimed at older teenagers and adults all over the world. In order to appeal to even bigger audiences, the site is available in 15 different languages, and there’s also a seperate portal with kid-friendly titles.
Contrary to popular belief, free-to-play browser games have been all but wiped out by the arrival of mobile games, and the ongoing success of CrazyGames is living proof of it.
