Cartoon Media is hosting Cartoon Games on March 5 in Lyon, a special event bringing together videogame and animation makers. Organised just before the Cartoon Movie event, this one-day side event consists of hundreds of one-to-one meetings between animation producers and gaming professionals.
Cartoon Movie is the pitching & co-production event for animated feature films, gathering 700 animation professionals from 40 countries in Lyon. Previous participants include Rovio, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Studio100 Media, Millimages and many more.
With the Cartoon Games side event Cartoon Media wishes
- to create synergies between the videogame and animation industries
- to encourage producers to add a game partner in the process of a feature film at the same early stage as the co-producer and the distributor
- to foster the concurrent development of a feature film and a game based on the same characters and graphic bible, like major hit films
