It’s been a while since we checked in with proud FLEGA member Curious Cats. The developers of serious game sensation Ava & Trix have big plans for the future. And who knows, you might just be a part of them.
The team is currently wrapping up a successful Winwinner funding campaign. The extra funds allow them to expand their team with a full time game designer/gamification expert (link in Dutch) to work on commercial gamification projects. Interested in joining one of the best serious game developers around and work in one of the most beautiful cities of the world (Ghent)? Apply with your resume and portfolio before February 5 and who knows you’ll be working on the next coole gamification project that hits it out of the park.
Next to a permanent hire, Curious Cats are also in the market for a freelance game designer to tackle a big project for an educational publisher. Free up your schedule until September because they’ve got your work cut out for you.
Next year also sees the start of some exciting new projects (all links in Dutch). The VAF funded Bulb is a charming puzzle game that teaches kids the ins and outs of electrical circuits. Meanwhile, Kr8cht! is a new application to inform primary school kids about high school study directions and help them decide what study will best suit their skill set. Last but not least, Project Silver aims to teach young people how to deal with setbacks and build mental resilience.
It’s inspiring to see the power of gamification being used in a lot of different ways and it’s nice to see how a small start-up has manifested itself as an important player in the Flemish games industry in such a short period of time.
