Proud FLEGA member Cybernetic Walrus has never been shy of ambition. Fresh out of the gates of DAE, CEO Mike Coeck quickly established his team as one of the leading new studios of the #FlemishGamesIndustry. But that was only the beginning.
To expand their business even further, they have recently launched a WinWinner campaign where they’re looking to collect € 150.000. Investors (starting from € 5000) get a 4,5% interest rate over the course of 8 years. As investing in SME’s seldom is without risk, 30% of your capital is guaranteed.
Primarily known as the Unity wizards who brought us Antigraviator, the team is currently working on its next big game. Rise of Humanity will be a deck building roguelike in the vein of Slay the Spire and SteamWorld Quest and takes place in a world where mankind hasn’t been on top of the food chain for a long time. By defeating enemies you’ll get more cards to build a better deck and broaden your strategic options to face even tougher opponents.
The production of a big project leaves the devs with less time than they’d like for their enterprise and industry services. Cybernetic Walrus wants to use the financial injection to grow in size so they can make Rise of Humanity the best game possible while at the same time not having to turn down interesting offers due to a lack of capacity. They’re looking to upgrade the team with a business developer, a PR manager, community manager, as well as an extra 3D animator/character artist and programmer.
The team will outline its lofty ambitions during an informative session on May 16, taking place in the Cybernetic Walrus office in Antwerp. Potential investers can get a feel for the people and industry they’re investing in, get a studio tour and see some of the projects the team’s involved in. Of course there will be time to have a drink, talk business and ask questions.

With 30 days to go, over half of the investment (€ 90.000) has already been secured, so it’s looking good. It’s great to see our studios take off in this fashion and we sincerely hope there’s enough interest to further support this promising game developer.
