Every year the iMinds digiMeter report brings us up to date on the ownership and use of media (technology) among the Flemish population. In 2014, a survey was conducted among 2028 Flemish citizens, both online and offline.
digiMeter also reports about gaming in Flanders. Here are some of the most remarkable results of the study:
-
62,4% have played at least one game in the last month
There seems to be a turning point in the adoption of game consoles: after years of a decreasing trend, the adoption of game consoles has stabilized to 32,5%
Three in ten Flemings have played mobile games in the last month (31,3% on tablet, 30,4% on smartphone)
Almost half of those who play games, play less than daily

The digiMeter research is quite unique and has been keeping a close eye on the Flemish media user since 2007. iMinds’ digiMeter survey is one of the most important elements for iMinds Living Labs pilot research. It’s here that creative inventions are co-developed and tested among panels of end users. The digiMeter community has been asked to take part.
