The website Gamesauce recently published an interesting article on Karel Crombecq, the founder of proud FLEGA member Sileni Studios. In February Karel gave an inspiring talk at Casual Connect Europe 2015 in Amsterdam about social game design. He argues that game design should not take place in your basement, but out there in the wild as a social interaction between your audience, your friends and your team.
The article on Gamesauce delves into Karel’s past. Among other things, you can read about how he started programming at a very early age, encouraged by his dad who also worked in the computer industry. Karel has been making games ever since. Last year Sileni Studios won the Indie Prize Best Game of Show Audience award at Casual Connect Belgrade with the studio’s upcoming game Mayan Death Robots. The game got greenlit on Steam last year and a BETA was released in March. You can download the BETA from the game’s website.
