Since marketing men managed to turn the celebration of All Hallow’s Eve into a commercial event featuring nightmarish dress-ups and carved-out pumpkins, October has officially become the month for all things spooky. An excellent time to release Cargo Breach, a new VR horror shooter by No. 28 Games, a team of Benelux devs including FLEGA member Studio Raef and Belgian indie veteran Pepijn Rijnders (of Sakari Games).
Go on and check out the launch trailer. If you’re not chicken.
Sure, it’s possible that you’re still zapping battle drones in Space Pirate Trainer, but if you like your VR targets to have a bit more blood and guts, Cargo Breach will be right up your dark alley. The game tells the tale of a space hunting trip gone horribly wrong. Transporting dangerous alien livestock back to earth to turn into food seemed like such a sound plan. Now the ship’s been overrun by escaped creatures that want to murder you and the entire human race, things look a bit different. Humans, they’ll never learn.
Players will have to venture into the ship and eradicate all escaped aliens before the ship reaches earth. Easier said than done, as the bloody things will hide in every nook and cranny of the dark spaceship. Luckily, you can wield The Modular, a device that changes shape based on how you hold the motion controllers. You’ll have to use your scanner (by clapping your hands together) to spot them, then quickly draw out your pistols (by moving your hands apart again) to riddle their squishy insides with bullets.
You can channel more weapons to exterminate the toughest space cows, but let’s leave some surprises to discover for yourself. Cargo Breach is out now on Steam for € 9,99 (discounted for a few more days!) and is compatible with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Happy hunting!
