As video games become increasingly popular, our beloved industry is putting a lot of effort in helping parents how to deal with this new medium. To counter the many baseless stories about game addiction and gambling that float around, it’s our duty to raise video game literacy as much as possible.
That’s why we’d once again like to put the spotlights on the Speel het Slim (link in Dutch) awareness campaign. It’s a useful guide for parents who’ve lost their way on the digital playground and a great manual for connecting with your kids through the unique language of video games.
The concept seems to catch on, as our Dutch colleagues have recently launched a similar campaign of their own, called Rule The Game (link in Dutch). If they make it through the color scheme, parents can find a lot of helpful tips and tricks here as well.
Speel het Slim is an initiative of the #BelgianGamesIndustry. The campaign is supported by the Minister of Digital Agenda Philippe De Backer, Mediawijs and the Flemish Minister of Culture, Media, Youth and Brussels Sven Gatz, and was launched and developed in conjunction with the following partner organisations.
