With a name like that, it’s easy to mistake the man for a Renaissance painter or the guitarist of an 80’s hair metal band, but the reality is even better. Jason Della Rocca is one of the most influential voices in game development and he’s doing a talk in Belgium pretty soon.
Described as a games industry entrepreneur, funding advisor, and cluster expert, Della Rocca specialises in business/partnership development, pitching/funding, and ecosystem/cluster development. He has been in the industry 20+ years and has dedicated the bulk of that career working with talented developers to facilitate growth for what was at the time a budding industry.
Much of that was down to his role as executive director for the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) between 2000 and 2009. Next to becoming a prolific speaker and business advisor, Della Rocca co-founded Execution Labs in 2012. Starting as a hybrid incubator/accelerator for game development, the business today offers remote support to selected indies around the world. He also fosters Gameplay Space, a dedicated coworking space for game developers in his hometown of Montreal.
Della Rocca is taking the stage to talk game business during Expert Talks at Hangar K, taking place on September 26 in Kortrijk from 6PM – 9PM. His keynote kicks off at 6.30, and afterwards there’ll be time for a Q&A session and closing network drink. Tickets are € 20, so that’s feeble compared to the amount you’d pay to see him speak at bigger industry events.
Don’t miss out on your chance to learn from an industry legend and see you there!
