We hope you’re enjoying your computerized stay at devcom digital conference. There’s still some exciting stuff in store for the second week, so let’s get to it.
First and foremost, you still have time until Friday August 28 at 7 PM to stock up on paper Belgian flags to support Midnight Protocol during the very first EuroPlay Games Contest. Inspired by the EuroVision Song Contest, the event has European countries (and – of course – Australia) showcasing their entry after which people can vote for their favorites. Voting is only possible during the event, so let’s all tune in and scream (or click) LuGus Studios to victory!
The first week of devcom just flew by but our virtual #BelgianGamesIndustry pavillion is still open for business until August 30. All attending companies will also be participating in the MeetToMatch Cologne Edition, taking place from August 25 until August 28. Swing by for a taste of the best our local industry has to offer.
There’s still some Belgian companies going live this week on devcom’s Twitch channel as well. Here’s the schedule (subject to change):
- Royal Translations and Stables: August 25 at 1.45 PM
- sU Games: August 25 at 2 PM
- Team Panoptes: August 26 at 2.30 PM
- WALGA: August 26 at 2.45 PM
Over at the online IndieArenaBooth, our proud member Glowfish Interactive and Fishing Cactus have prepared their digital booths to show off the latest builds of Trifox and Nanotale to the indie loving audience. Hosted on a separate platform, attendees can create a virtual avatar and walk 1,000,000 square meters of online space to discover demos and trailers of more than 150 upcoming indie games. This digital event takes place as part of the digital gamescom from August 27 until August 30.
Last but not least, here’s hoping that the debut game of our proud member eXiin, Ary and the Secret of Seasons, goes home with Best Family Game (voted for by a professional jury) at the gamescom awards on Sunday evening Aug 30 8PM. The game releases Sep 1st and we will of course report come launch day.
Thanks to Flanders Investment and Trade for guiding us through this special edition of devcom/gamescom. They couldn’t do that without the valuable support of AWEX/Digital Wallonia, Flanders DC, hub.brussels, VAF/GAME, screen.brussels, Wallimage, and WALGA. Thank you all!
