The European Commission recently announced the results of the applications for the development of video games within the Media program (call 2015). Of the 182 eligible applications, a total of 31 applications from 14 countries were approved for a total amount of €3,411,555. That’s a 7% success rate. There were two Belgian applications in consideration of which one was finally approved.
The Belgian independent game developer Monkube (6Th Planet, Blastball) received €55,000 for the development of Runes & Rivets: Drahlos’ Journey. The full list of selected video games for this call can be consulted on the EACEA website.
The next call is expected in October 2015 with the deadline scheduled for March 2016. We urge all FLEGA members to apply so that small countries like Belgium can get a bigger piece of the pie. It’s important to have ample applications to avoid a future reduction of the available funding.
