There’s exciting times ahead at proud FLEGA member Rusty Bolt. The Bruges based studio of Steven Delrue is launching their triggeractive platformer Revolve on Steam today. So if you haven’t picked up a gift for Valentine’s Day, you might have the perfect solution to your problem right here.
Buying the person you care for most a video game might not sound like the most romantic thing in the world, but hear us out. Revolve tells the story of Reevo, a lonely robot drone stuck in a desolate science fiction world. All he wants is to reunite with his companion. In order to achieve that goal you’ll have to guide him through a series of crazy mazes filled to the brim with deadly traps. He’s risking his life for the one he truly loves! If that doesn’t sound sweeter than a box of chocolates, we don’t know what will.
To make matters worse – yet more interesting for the player – Reevo can’t be controlled directly. Instead you’ll have to consume energy for speed boosts, jumps, sudden brakes and even inverse gravity. The tricky part is this energy is slowly regenerating, so you’ll have to think carefully and time your actions just right if you don’t want Reevo to plummet to his death. Add wall rides and zero gravity to the mix and you’re up for a serious challenge.
Once you’ve survived over 75 levels of impending doom, you can try to find faster ways to clear the levels. You’ll be able to race against the ghosts of your friends, defend your spot on the leaderboards and even create your own challenges using the level editor. Because nothing says “I love you” as much as beating the high score of your soulmate in a level you’ve designed yourself. So check out the launch trailer and feast your eyes on those screenshots. And then pick up the game. In the name of love, of course.
Good luck to everyone at Rusty Bolt – here’s to another Flemish games industry success story!
