For the second year running, the capital of the Netherlands will be transformed into the VR capital of Europe, as the second edition of the VR Days is taking place from November 3rd until November 6th in the heart of Amsterdams lovely Vondelpark. That’s just enough time to switch out your Halloween mask with a head mounted display of your choice. Unless, you went trick or treating wearing your Oculus Rift, in which case you’re set well in advance.
Aaanyway, VR Days Europe (upgraded from last years’ Dutch VR Days) is four days filled with the latest VR trends and hardware, inspiring keynotes and all kinds of demos to experience. The first day is focused on keynote speeches, while the second day is all about expert workshops. In the weekend you’re welcome to try out over 60 interesting VR demos, with a quirky live VR opera as top of the bill on Sunday. You can even try your hand at developing your very own VR experience during the VRackathon.
Here’s a small selection of the many talks, expert sessions and workshops on offer:
- Dominic Eskofier (NVIDIA) on the state of VR tech
- Edwin van Gessel (Force Field VR) shows how they created their first Oculus game Landfall
- Steye Hallema (JauntVR) on storytelling in VR
- Martin Tirion (Microsoft) talks about what’s happening with HoloLens
There’s a whole range of tickets available if you’re interested in a specific workshop.
