It’s Wednesday morning in San Francisco when you’re reading this and it’s hard to believe that we’re already halfway our second mission to GDC. Let’s have a quick look back at the great things that already happened, before diving back into the friendly madness of the Moscone convention center.
As promised, we kicked off GDC in style during the Dutch Courage meets Belgian Beers pre-mixer. Our studios were able to showcase their work to press and publishers in a nice atmosphere and even got a visit from Minister Gatz himself. We think we speak for all attendees (and really, the waiting line tells the whole story) that this was a great event that we should turn into a yearly tradition. Thanks to everyone involved!
Our presence in San Francisco hasn’t gone unnoticed by the mainstream media back home either. Here’s a selection of articles (links in Dutch) that have been published as a result of our efforts in San Francisco:
- VRT has run a nice series of developer portraits and an article on the state of our industry
- Gazet van Antwerpen talks about alt.ctrl.GDC nominee Pepijn Willekens and his game Windgolf
- Our partners in crime in this mission Flanders DC posted a great write up about our first days adventures
A little bit (or you know, tons) of rain isn’t going to stop the #BelgianGamesIndustry from shining at GDC. As the expo opens later today, a lot of people will find their way to our studios. The Belgian delegation will be visiting those as well and we can expect plenty more media coverage as a direct result of that.
Stay tuned to our channels for more exciting GDC news as it happens!
