Proud FLEGA member The Artistocrats announced yesterday that Morning Sun, the second expansion pack for their acclaimed strategy game Order of Battle: Pacific, will be delayed to January 2016. Although the beta test of the expansion is progressing well, the team has decided not to rush out the release, but instead make sure the upcoming update will include long-expected features such as skirmish mode and unit counters.
A special preview with detailed information on the new skirmish mode will follow soon. You can still register for the beta if you want to try out the new features sooner.
Morning Sun will cover one of the cruelest but most underrated conflicts preceding and coinciding with the Second World War. In the summer of 1937, renewed tensions between Japan and China escalated into open war. The Second Sino-Japanese war had begun. The conflict soon turned into a massive all-out war between the two sides during the Battle of Shanghai.
The expansion pack will include several new units (like a Construction Group unit that allows players to construct small airstrips on locations of their own choosing) and interesting new terrain types, e.g. you will be able to plough your way through muddy rice fields and fight along the Great Wall of China. In other words: Morning Sun will be well worth the wait.
