With the new consoles and every big game that doesn’t get high on delays out there, we’re slowly drifting towards the end of a very crazy year. It’s been a while since we did a good old fashioned roundup of #BelgianGamesIndustry achievements, so today seems as good a time as any.
You Suck at Parking by Happy Volcano certainly doesn’t suck at being in the picture lately. The extreme parking simulator was featured in the latest edition of The Escapist Games Showcase and crashed its way to victory at the Dev Booster online pitching contest during gameweekberlin. Download the demo on Steam to see what the honk it’s all about.
Journey for Elysium creators Mantis Games have lifted the veil on their next title Deck of Haunts. Inspired by Dungeon Keeper, players will take the role of a haunted house to seek vengeance on those that have wronged them in life. This list includes, but is not limited to, corporate lawyers, door-to-door-salesmen, and mariachi band members. The team has also released its first asset packs for both Unity and Unreal Engine.
You ain’t afraid of no ghost? That’s for the best if you plan to give the demo of Ghost on the Shore a shot. The mysterious story adventure by like Charlie was recently selected for IndieX 2020, alongside Studio Waterzooi’s Please Touch The Artwork.
It’s always nice when a bunch of talented developers take the plunge to start their own studio. Business Goose was co-founded by LUCA School of Arts graduates Jonathan Wolfs, Beau Vankemenade, and Sander Ambroos. They will release their first game Sizeable on 26th March next year, so you’ve still got some time to play the demo and wishlist it.
We reported on the flying start of Maratus Games crowdfunding campaign to finish their debut game ARISEN, but the Kickstarter campaign kept us on the edge of our seat. We’re very happy for the team they managed to reach their € 30 000 goal in the end and are very much looking forward to seeing more of their intriguing narrative card game. And wouldn’t you know? They have a demo as well!
That’s already a lot of demos to try this weekend. We have more where that came from so let’s meet here again next month to celebrate more #BelgianGamesIndustry goodness!
