Putting together your gamescom schedule is one of the more fiendish puzzles of the year. So many people to meet! So much things to see! With over 30.000 game professionals attending, dividing your valuable time isn’t always easy. Here’s some initiatives to speed things up a little.
Gamesmatch is a quick and easy way to set up 20 minute speed dates with potential partners. Simply sign up for free (until August 18), browse the online catalog of registered game professionals who did the same and schedule a meeting.
The platform lets you skip introductions and cut right to the chase to talk specific project ideas. Meetings can take place from August 20-August 22 at the Booth of Medien Digital Land NRW, Hall 4.1 B-031-C-040 and you’ll get your personalised meeting schedule a few days before the madness in Cologne kicks off.
Another quick way to meet interesting partners is Meet Your Neighbours. For the fourth year, the speed dating session will give you the chance to spend an hour with developers and publishers from France, The Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom to find out how they manage development, financing and distribution.
Taking place on Wednesday August 21 from 10.30 – 11.30 at the Holland Pavillion, Hall 4.1 A65/B70 the event focuses on narrative games and is open to just 3 Belgian developers. Ideally, we’d like to see a company from each region, but the selection lies ultimately with the organisation. You can sign up here before July 25.
Here’s hoping this makes solving your personal gamescom puzzle a tad easier. Whatever you do, make sure to reserve some space in your schedule on Tuesday afternoon. We might be up to something…
