The popular digital learning platform bingel (link in Dutch only) published by Van In (link in Dutch only), part of the Sanoma Group, was awarded the prestigious International Educational Resources Award in London. The successful Flemish platform for teachers and students in primary education was chosen as the winner by an international jury of experts from a long list of contestants from ten different countries.
The jury praised the platform for creating a safe, motivating and easy to use digital learning environment for both students and teachers. In school as well as at home. The platform was developed in collaboration with by Flemish developer and proud FLEGA member Bazookas.
This is not the first time the platform walks away with an award. A few years ago bingel received the title of ‘best Belgian online content for kids’ from Click Safe (link in Dutch only), which is part of Child Focus. In 2011 the verb ‘bingelen’ ended up in second place in the category ‘youth language’ during Van Dale’s yearly election of the word of the year. Bingel is used by almost 80% of kids in primary school. Alternate language versions have been launched in Wallonia, Sweden en Finland.
