Last week marked the start of the public beta program of Granite for Unity, Graphine’s fine-grained texture streaming plug-in for Unity 3D. As of now anyone, be it students, enthousiasts or professionals, can download the 30 day trial for Granite for Unity from the Graphine website and start exploring the benefits of advanced texture streaming in Unity.
Additionally Graphine has also taken the opportunity to revisit their licensing model. They’re also offering Granite for Unity licenses on a per-seat basis in four different versions. Each version is tailored to address the needs of Unity’s wide variety of users: from architectural and product visualization to game development in both large and smaller teams.
Graphine CEO and co-founder, Aljosha Demeulemeester, explains the reasoning behind the seat licenses: “Unity 3D is a great tool that has been widely adopted by the game and 3D visualization industries because of its accessibility. With the seat-based licenses we offer a model that’s tailored to the engine and that scales perfectly with the projects and team sizes of Unity’s wide variety of users. We’ve now made fine-grained texture streaming more accessible than ever. Now we offer a version of Granite for Unity suited to every developer.”
