There’s no better way to celebrate the revival of the physical GDC experience than CourageXL. For those of you who haven’t heard about CourageXL: it’s the best pre-mixer in San Francisco. Taking place on the eve of GDC 22 (that’s Sunday 20th of March), it’s an ideal way to get warmed up before the conference madness breaks all loose on Monday.
The concept is pretty simple: play a game, get a beer. You’ll receive some drink tickets with your registration that you’re able to hand out to people that have played your video game. Before we throw the doors open for video game enthusiasts from the world over, there’s an exclusive VIP hour for press and publishers. Better warm up those elevator pitches!
Returning to the magnificent event space The Great Nothern, CourageXL has been a sold-out event in recent years. We expect it to be no different this time, so having a guaranteed place at the showcase will be a valuable addition to your GDC experience. Don’t hesitate to sign up.
If you *have* waited too long and there’s no more space for you at the event, you might also consider applying for the European Game Showcase. As opposed to CourageXL, this is a curated selection so there’s no guarantees you’ll be able to attend. However, it’s a very nice event to be part of, frequented by both press, publishers and other investors. You can give it a shot here. Deadline for this one is 21st of January.
