Our proud member LuGus Studios has teamed up with Skypersonic, an American manufacturer of drones used for indoor industrial inspections, to create a drone inspection simulator. Powered by the technology behind drone simulator Liftoff, the Skypersonic Simulator is standalone software that allows Skycopter owners to hone their piloting skills by practising in different realistic scenarios.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic Skypersonic modified their Skycopters, that were initially created to safely inspect challenging industrial environments, to be utilised as a remote disinfecting and sanitising drone for high risk indoor environments. To quickly train operators, the simulator now includes additional features to guide training sessions related to snuffing out potential virus contamination from a safe distance. In order to help the battle against the pandemic, an early version of the simulator is free to download for a limited time.
Next to encouraging people to stay indoors with in-game messaging, and embrace working from home getting their team to work from home efficiently, this is another great example of how game technology can be used in the war against this virus.
