We all know the Dutch can learn a few things from us, but we sure can learn from them too. Check out GameOn for example, an investment program to accelerate the growth of one of the fastest growing media sectors worldwide: the online and mobile games industry. GameOn is a group of successful, passionate Dutch entrepreneurs – with over 50 years of experience in the games industry – who will identify, support and invest in the most exciting and innovative game companies.
It is important to stress that GameOn does not only provide funding to game developers. Central to GameOn´s strategy is to create an ecosystem that supports and helps the entrepreneur paper to product. GameOn wants to build an unrivaled network of connected interests that will ensure a legacy in The Netherlands.
GameOn follows the example of the Nordic Game Fund, set up a few years ago in the Nordic countries. FLEGA will lobby to obtain an equally attractive funding project in Flanders, but beware that this will take time. In the meantime Flemish game developers can already obtain substantial project funding at VAF Gamefonds.
