We’d like to introduce you to a very cool initiative by our friends at The House of Indie. This year they are organising the very first instalment of HEADSTART, a week-long, international summer school, aimed at starting indie developers. The aim of the initiative is to help recent graduates or budding companies to make the jump to indie development by teaching them the essentials.
To do this The House of Indie has assembled an all-start team of mentors, composed of indie game veterans and industry specialists like Auriea Harvey and Michaël Samyn from Tale of Tales, Adriaan De Jongh (Fingle, Bounden), Erin Robinson (Ivy Games) and many more! They will arm you with all the knowledge you need to get ahead on the road to independence. From game design over technology and aesthetics, to marketing and even business and legal advice.
For an entire week (from August 31 to September 6) you will get to hang out with these indie figureheads, build a network of equally passionate international peers and top it all off with a two-day game jam, all in the historical center of beautiful Antwerp, Belgium. Apply now for this unique chance to kickstart your career. Caution: this is not a free event. Ticket price is €500 including sleep accommodation and two meals a day. Early bird tickets are sold out.
