Graphine Software is proud to announce that Larian Studios has integrated their texture streaming library Granite in Larian’s latest game, Divinity Dragon Commander, which will be released on August 6th.
Using the Graphine Software technology, Larian Studios was able to upscale their prebaked 16k x 16k landscape textures to 32k x 32k and beyond – allowing them to apply even more unique texture detail in their Divinity universe. Granite texture compression made sure that this didn’t stop Larian from adding even more game levels.
The collaboration on Dragon Commander has proven that Granite can easily be integrated deeply into a game – even late in the production process – significantly reducing video memory and storage requirements for the game.
